Eleanor Russell- Hsieh
Drypoint Print

Eleanor Russell-Hsieh grew up in a tiny hamlet in Cornwall – adventuring in the rivers, woodland and seaside that surrounded her.
Studying paper conservation at Camberwell College of Arts (University of the Arts London), she spent 13 years working as a paper conservator for some of the world’s leading museums and institutions – including the British Museum, British Library and Natural History Museum.
In 2013, Eleanor moved back to south-east Cornwall and started printing the same year. Combining printing with her lifelong love of drawing, she began experimenting with lino, drypoint and monotype methods – and fell in love with the unpredictability of the printing process.
Example of her work
Influenced by her love of nature, Eleanor’s work is whimsical and nostalgic in equal measure. Her monochromatic prints are a love letter to Cornwall, its diverse flora and fauna a continuing source of inspiration.
Frequently exhibiting her work with other local artists, her prints and cards can be found in several galleries, shops and makers’ fairs.
