Justine Hambly
Collograph

Many years ago, Justine studied Design Crafts and then Interior Architecture and from there
worked as, amongst other things, a mosaicist, gallery manager, interior designer,
photographer and vintage dabbler. Feeling the need for a new creative outlet, she completed a
printmaking course and became completely hooked.
Her particular interest is in creating collagraph prints, which she combines with monoprint and relief techniques. She uses metallic leaf to hint at treasures beneath. Justine loves the endless variations that each inking of a plate brings, each print an original artwork in itself. Her work is inspired by the landscapes around her, from coast to moorland, as well as the geology and industrial heritage of Cornwall. She has a love of abandoned industrial sites that nature has taken back, a glorious mix of colours and textures
