Ruth Taylor is a figurative artist and illustrator who attended Art school in Manchester and Brighton and Graduated with a BA Hons in illustration. Whilst working as a freelance illustrator she moved to Cornwall and began running a residential recording studio for many years. Whilst working there she had little time for art, undertaking only a scattering of illustration jobs and commissions for caricatures and paintings. She happily returned to art full time 4 years ago.
Her work centres around character and expression particularly the female form and she is drawn to the humour and absurdity of ordinary life. She is a people watcher and has filled many small sketch books over the years, surreptitiously drawing people in public spaces. She works with everything from Acrylic, oil , watercolour, ink, chalk, fabric 3D and digital.
