We have just finished the pilots for the first of our new heritage art trails -The Mount Folly trail - and the feedback was very positive. The pilots were funded by Experience Bodmin. The people who participated in these pilot events really enjoyed them with comments like these:

" Had fun, discovered new things about Bodmin and did activities not done before. It was just the right amount of challenge"

"Fun. Interesting. Opens your mind. Makes you more aware to take time to observe the small things"

"The perfect day. I am so very glad I came along. It made me feel connected and inspired"

"Fabulous drawing activities. Great tutor, Friendly group. Interesting place"

" I very much enjoyed being able to be ‘artistic’ without the pressure of having to be perfect. Sketching makes you observe your surroundings more thoroughly"

So, we are now announcing not one but two opportunities for you to explore the historic heart of Bodmin through art on a relaxed and inspiring Heritage Art Trail around the Mount Folly area. You can choose either Saturday September 19th or Saturday October 3rd.

Before the events, participants will receive a welcome pack with full joining instructions, together with an introduction to Bodmin's fascinating history and the heritage of the Mount Folly area, whose origins date back to the 5th century. This background information will enrich the experience and provide inspiration before you even arrive.

Led by experienced artist Karen Howse, the trail visits some of Bodmin's most significant heritage locations, including Mount Folly Square, Bodmin Town Museum and the historic St Petroc's Church. Along the way, Karen will share stories and historical insights about the buildings and their surroundings, providing context and inspiration for your own creative work.
