Weave your own flower ornament from willow

- 2 min read

Perfect for beginners and seasoned makers alike, this session offers a chance to slow down, work with your hands, and enjoy the calming rhythm of weaving. We keep the group small and Jasmine takes it step by step so you get plenty of guidance and attention.
Jasmine will show you how to weave the centre of the flower, which is a nice introduction to basket making as it's very similar to a round basket base! You'll then add your petals and by the end, you’ll take home your own unique floral creations—lasting keepsakes for the home on the wall or out in the garden!
Please note that people with joint pain or injury in their hands may struggle as weaving requires a good amount of dexterity- if you have any doubts or concerns, please get in touch on 07506554872 (Jasmine).

About Jasmine Fassenfelt

Jasmine fell in love with willow weaving when she did a project at the end of her university studies creating a three-meter large hand sculpture made completely from willow and recycled materials for the Lost Gardens of Helligan. She now divides her time between running workshops, creating bespoke sculptures, working in schools, and creating visual elements for community arts projects.
Jasmine has always felt a strong passion for nature. She enjoyed a childhood filled with daily sea swims and adventures on Bodmin moor, This love for nature and art has led her to explore the endless ways of using natural materials to sculpt and create.
This workshop was made possible thanks to Experience Bodmin which is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
