Nicky Stone

Nicky'sceramic sculptures tell stories and tales emerging from fairytale,myth, folklore and dreams. They describe her need to aalways be near   or in the sea and the woods. Informed by archetypal imagery, Nicky draws from her inconscious process, not knowing what will emerge from the clay until it appears.

Old Folklores tells us how to live, fairytales tell us of hope  and transformation. The Dreamers are going under ground, under water, deep inside. They are dreaming a new, harmonious world into being. 

Nicky graduated from Falmouth College of Art in 2000 and alongside her ceramic practice has worked as an art therapist and teacher. She is now a full-time ceramacist, painter, print-maker and writer .
