We have some very special unique artisan wool fleece pieces made by Jeannette Forgacova. Using fleece from her own sheep and other local farms, she makes rugs, seat pads and scarves using a loom weaving process and hats and cushions using dry and wet felting. We have a selection of these in the Gallery. Her skill is matched by her creativity and we love to see her new designs and patterns.

The rugs and seat pads are made from different types of washed sheep fleeces. Includes Breeds – Welsh Mule, Blueface Leicester, Corriedale, Jacob, Black Nose Valais. Each fleece has a different structure, colour and texture so each piece is quite unique. The seat pads are perfect for extra comort for your car seat, kitchen chair and for your garden furniture. There are made using a peg loom .

Peg loom weaving is a simple ancient weaving method that goes back thousands of years, possibly even used in the Bronze Age. The Vikings made mats and rugs with this method and North American indigenous people also used it. It is valued as a simple but efficient method to create thick durable textiles without the need for a complex loom.

Her pebble pillows are made using wet and dry felting methods . They look incredible and the medium and large ones make perfect lumbar supports. They come in grey and mauve and in all sizes, from 6 inches upwards.

She also makes hats and scarves using felting, like these two stylish berets.

Jeannette fell in love with sheep as a child when spending memorable days at her Grandparent's farm. Their beautiful fleeces have sadly been neglected for many years, the value hardly covering the cost of shearing.  Yet fleece is an eco-friendly, sustainable material for many uses in everyday life.

Jeannette bought her first flock of six Welsh MuIe sheep for Border Collie pup Meg to work with. She also visited a farmer friend and helped with lambing. She learned learn how to look after sheep and start lambing. She loves to watch her beautiful sheep grazing on her smallholding on the Cornwall north coast.
